Injecting carbon dioxide into oil fields boosts recovery rates, revolutionizing energy production.
Capturing carbon dioxide is important for reducing air pollution and fighting climate change. Different technologies can capture carbon dioxide from industrial plants and use it in various industries. One way to use captured carbon dioxide is by injecting it into depleted oil and gas fields to increase the recovery of hydrocarbons. A study showed that injecting carbon dioxide into a specific reservoir increased gas recovery by 2.95% and condensate recovery by 1.24%. This method has promising potential for enhancing oil and gas production while reducing carbon emissions in Ukraine.
