The article presents a new tool to estimate the size of anaerobic digesters and the amount of biogas they produce. By inputting the retention time, daily feed, and type of feedstock, the tool can predict biogas volume with 10% more accuracy than existing models. The digester volume estimates were also within ±10% of reported values. This tool can help in planning anaerobic digestion plants more effectively.
