Hyperconnected systems vulnerable to global botnet attacks, cybersecurity standards insufficient.
Trusted systems and zero trust are not enough to secure hyperconnected systems like Connected and Autonomous Vehicles. The Internet of Vehicles is vulnerable to attacks, with malware in any part of the system providing opportunities for hackers. A botnet formed from the IoV could have a global reach and be difficult to eliminate. Organised crime groups have already reverse engineered vehicle systems, and mobile attack platform swarms could be the next step in cyber threats.
