Chemical fertilizers outperform organic in boosting crop productivity and soil health.
A study was done to see how different types of nutrients affect rice-based crops like wheat, potato, and sorghum. Chemical fertilizers gave higher crop yields than organic manures or a mix of both. Organic manures improved soil health by increasing nutrients and helpful micro-organisms. Rice-potato-okra was the most productive cropping system. Chemical fertilizers were more cost-effective for rice-wheat-green manuring and rice-potato-okra.
