The article discusses a new system that helps designers improve their design ideas in real-time. The system analyzes how designers work and gives them feedback to enhance their spatial designs. By combining sketching, design retrieval, and feedback features on tablet PCs, the system allows designers to explore new design possibilities, rethink their decisions, and express their ideas better. Tests with 21 professional designers showed that the system was effective in helping them interact with their designs and come up with new ideas. This research suggests a new way for designers to work with computers to improve their design process. The system could also be adapted for use on the web, opening up possibilities for tracking design decisions.
