Yi Students' Mental Lexicon Development Shaping Chinese Language Education Trends.
The study looked at how Yi students learn Chinese words. They tested 165 students from two bilingual schools. The students mainly connected words by meaning, with some connections based on how the words sound. They found that students focused more on how words are used together in sentences rather than how they relate to each other. The way students connected words changed as they got older, but some types of connections didn't improve much over time. This research can help improve how Yi students learn Chinese.
