Consumers can now know the true ingredients in their food
Understanding what ingredients are in our food is important for knowing its nutritional value and environmental impact. A new method was developed to estimate ingredient compositions in food products by analyzing their labels and comparing them to known nutrient values. The method was tested on a dataset of 1804 food products and found to be accurate in estimating ingredient compositions within a small margin of error. This automated approach allows for better analysis of large quantities of food products and can help in evaluating their nutritional and ecological aspects more thoroughly.
