Incentives Drive Sustainable Management of Invasive Trees in Kenya.
Sustainable land management practices are important for preventing land degradation, but they are not being used enough. This study looked at how to encourage people to use these practices to manage invasive trees in Kenya. They found that offering incentives is the main reason people take action against invasive species. However, efforts tend to focus on private land, while shared land is often ignored. The researchers suggest that managing invasive species effectively requires a collective approach that involves local communities in sustainable land management.
