Indonesian companies ramp up sustainability reporting, but Human Rights lag behind
The article explores how companies in Indonesia have been reporting on sustainability from 2006 to 2019. They looked at both environmentally-conscious and non-environmentally-conscious companies. The study found that sustainability reporting has been increasing over the years. Companies mainly focus on economic and social aspects, with environmental information coming next. Environmentally-conscious companies talk more about community engagement, while non-environmentally-conscious companies focus on new employees and turnover. Surprisingly, human rights issues are the least discussed in these reports.
