The article discusses a new way to make biodiesel using Single Cell Oil (SCO) without the need for separate lipid extraction. This process, called in-situ transesterification, directly converts pretreated biomass into biodiesel using catalysts. This method reduces production costs and is more efficient than traditional methods.
