Sentiment analysis helps understand public opinion on social media. While European languages have good tools, Indian languages lack accuracy. To solve this, a system was trained in English with high accuracy. English sentences were labeled with sentiment and translated to Bengali. This created a Bengali sentiment corpus, used to train a Bengali sentiment analysis system. The model showed very good qualitative scores when tested.
