Effortless Database Queries for All: Natural Language Unlocks Access to Information
This research aimed to make it easier for people who aren't experts in databases to ask questions using everyday language instead of computer code. Scientists used a computer program that learns from examples to understand what users want and change it into a computer-friendly form. They did this by changing normal words into database words, finding similar words and figuring out what part of speech each word is. The program also used a special formula to see how alike words are. By using this method, they were able to convert sentences into computer language, helping users get the information they need from a database.
