Cow dung produces highest quality vermicompost, revolutionizing organic farming.
The researchers studied different types of animal manures to make high-quality vermicompost. They tested 9 parameters of vermicompost and found that cow dung produced the best quality, followed by buffalo dung, goat dung, and chicken manure. The weight of earthworms decreased the most in cow dung and the least in goat dung. Chicken manure had the highest pH, while buffalo dung had the lowest. Water content did not vary significantly among the sources. Temperatures were highest in vermicompost from goat dung and chicken manure. Organic carbon content was highest in vermicompost from buffalo dung, while total nitrogen content was highest in vermicompost from goat dung. The C/N ratio was lowest in goat dung and highest in buffalo dung.
