New study shows 86% replicability of groundbreaking social-behavioral findings!
Newly-discovered social-behavioral findings can be replicated successfully using rigorous methods. Four labs tested 16 new discoveries with large sample sizes, preregistration, and transparent methods. They found that 86% of replication attempts showed the expected effects, exceeding the average replication rate of 50%. When one lab replicated another's finding, the effect size was 97% of the original study. This high replication rate shows that using these rigorous methods can increase the reliability of new discoveries.
