New Sugar Cane Genotypes Boost Crop Yields and Ratooning Ability
A study was done to see how well 30 different types of sugar cane plants grow and produce sugar in Luxor, Egypt. The researchers looked at the plants during three different growing seasons. They found that some plants were better at growing and making sugar than others. The plants also varied in how well they could grow back after being harvested. Overall, the plants had different sizes, weights, and sugar content. Some plants did better in the first growing season, while others did better in the second or third.
