Multicollinearity happens when some variables in a study are closely related, causing issues in understanding and calculating regression analysis. This occurs when one variable is strongly linked to another or a combination of variables. Just because two variables are highly correlated doesn't always mean there is multicollinearity. The term collinearity is used when points line up on a graph.
