The 2014 devastating floods in Kashmir were caused by heavy rainfall, worsened by climate change. While many studies focused on the main River Jhelum, the Vishav River, a major tributary, played a significant role in the floods. It contributes one-fifth of the Jhelum's water flow. The study analyzed the Vishav River's behavior and its impact on the floods, emphasizing the need for flood mitigation measures in the Vishav basin.
