Additive Manufacturing Slashes Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Supply Chains
Additive manufacturing (AM) can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in supply chains by up to 26.43% compared to traditional manufacturing. This is because AM can create products without the need for assembly, reducing labor and emissions. The study compared the environmental impact of AM and traditional manufacturing methods and found that AM is more eco-friendly. Additionally, a 20% change in the emissions intensity of electricity can lead to a 6.26% change in total emissions from AM-enabled supply chains.
