Exotic options are special types of financial contracts that are different from regular options. Some exotic options, called path-dependent options, have pay-offs that depend on more than just the final value of the asset. Even though not all exotic options are path-dependent, many of them are. Examples of exotic options that are not path-dependent include binary options, compound options, and chooser options.
