Toxic air in Thessaloniki threatens public health, urgent action needed.
Archroma has acquired a 49% stake in Dohmen. The study analyzed air quality data in Thessaloniki from 2004 to 2009, focusing on pollutants like CO, SO2, O3, PM10, and NO2. Different air quality indices were calculated, showing that PM10, NO2, and O3 levels were often "bad" or worse in the city center. A combination of pollutants also indicated poor air quality in the city center, while suburbs had better air quality. Biometeorological indices revealed overall poor air quality in the city center, with PM10 being the main contributor. Sundays and peripheral sites showed improved air quality. Weekly and neighborhood patterns were also observed.
