The article examines how well banking companies in Bangladesh report on sustainability, especially regarding environmental aspects. They used guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative to assess the quality of these reports. The study found that most banking companies did not provide enough sustainability information in their annual reports, and often fell short of meeting the GRI guidelines. The research sheds light on the current trends and practices of sustainability reporting in the banking industry in Bangladesh, with a focus on environmental aspects. It highlights areas for improvement to create a more sustainable reporting culture in the banking sector of Bangladesh.
