Ferric Chloride Beats Alum in Water Treatment Cost Efficiency
The researchers evaluated three coagulants for removing turbidity from Karoun River water. They found that polyaluminum chloride (PACL) and ferric chloride were more effective than aluminum sulfate (Alum). Ferric chloride was also more cost-effective than PACL and Alum in water treatment plants. Therefore, it is recommended to use ferric chloride with Besfloc when turbidity is below 6500 NTU for efficient and economical water treatment.
