Latinos in US face rising deportation fears, citizens not immune
Deportation fears among Latinos in the US vary based on citizenship and legal status. Latino US citizens have lower deportation fears than noncitizens, but fears have increased for citizens over time. Noncitizens' fears have remained high but stable. The study uses data from the National Survey of Latinos to show how deportation impacts Latinos, who are disproportionately targeted by US immigration policies.
