New water treatment method improves purification of humic and cold waters.
The study looked at how different types of water and coagulants affect the efficiency of dissolved air flotation (DAF) in water treatment. They found that alum, ferric salts, and certain polyaluminium chlorides (PACs) work well under specific conditions. PACs with silicon and sulfate were effective for cold waters with short flocculation times. Increasing flocculation mixing intensity slightly improved flotation performance. The research suggests designing flocculation tanks to create strong, pinpoint-sized floc particles.
