Cadmium in Chlorella Boosts Rat Health and Speeds Up Excretion
The researchers studied how rats absorbed and excreted cadmium from cadmium-containing chlorella compared to cadmium chloride. They found that rats given cadmium-containing chlorella did not show growth issues like those given cadmium chloride. The cadmium levels in the organs of rats given cadmium-containing chlorella were lower than those given cadmium chloride. Blood cadmium levels were higher after cadmium chloride intake compared to cadmium-containing chlorella. Additionally, rats excreted cadmium faster after consuming cadmium-containing chlorella than cadmium chloride.
