This study looks at how sharing supply information in global supply chains can help them work better. They used a computer model to simulate supply chain operations with and without this information sharing. The results showed that when supply information is shared, it can make the supply chain cost less and provide better service. The study found that the benefits of sharing supply information depend a lot on the demand patterns and how busy the supply chain is. In a nutshell, sharing information about supplies in the chain can really boost performance by lowering costs and improving service levels.
