New technique allows mobile platforms to measure tropospheric trace gases horizontally.
Mobile MAX-DOAS observations help study gases in the air. Scientists can use cars, ships, or planes to measure gases in different places. This helps compare with computer models and satellite data. A new method was created to analyze these mobile observations accurately, even when the air moves quickly. This method can also improve fixed location measurements, especially in strong winds. The researchers used this new technique during a car trip from Brussels to Heidelberg.
