Marine protected areas in Brazil may not be effectively conserving biodiversity. Large MPAs are being created in the open ocean, but they may not be the best way to protect marine life. Some MPAs are in areas where fishing is not a big issue, they don't consider how different areas affect each other, and they may not be regulating fishing of certain species well.
