The paper examines whether Smart Growth policies in Calgary have been effective in reducing urban sprawl. By reviewing past urban sprawl in Calgary and existing Smart Growth indicators, it is clear that the city is struggling to meet Smart Growth goals. While some progress has been made, policy changes may be needed to better combat sprawl in the future.
