Dry Acid Pretreatment Boosts Ethanol Production from Corn Stover by 26.5%
Dry dilute acid pretreatment of corn stover with helically agitated mixing improves efficiency and reduces inhibitor generation. This method increases ethanol production by 26.5% and yield by 17.2% compared to pretreatment without mixing. The findings suggest that this approach could lead to more effective production of cellulosic ethanol on a larger scale.
