A new trophic index (TRIX) has been developed to assess the health of coastal marine waters. This index is based on factors like chlorophyll levels, oxygen saturation, and nutrient concentrations. The goal was to create a simple way to measure the trophic state of these waters. The researchers found that by considering these key factors, they could effectively evaluate the overall water quality and nutrient levels in the NW Adriatic Sea.
