Tropical Residents Thrive in Hotter Temperatures, Challenging Comfort Standards
The study looked at how people in a tropical area feel comfortable in a museum building. They used two methods to measure comfort: one based on calculations and one based on people's opinions. The results showed that while the calculated temperature for comfort was around 23 degrees Celsius, people actually felt comfortable at temperatures up to 32 degrees Celsius. This suggests that in tropical regions, the standard method for predicting comfort may not be accurate, as people can adapt to higher temperatures.
