International agreements protect marine life and resources for future generations.
The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, along with related agreements, was reviewed as of July 2019. The main focus was on the status of these agreements regarding the implementation of laws related to the conservation and management of fish stocks in international waters. The findings show that as of the specified date, progress had been made in implementing these agreements to protect and sustainably manage straddling and highly migratory fish stocks.
