Turning Food Waste into Pathogen-Free Compost with Upcycled Moisturizing Agent
Researchers in Tunisia found a way to turn food waste into compost by using a special type of liquid from the waste. They tested four different types of this liquid and found that the one made from food waste and wheat straw worked the best. By adding this liquid to the compost, they were able to make high-quality compost that is free from harmful bacteria. The compost also had low levels of heavy metals, meeting strict quality standards. This process helps reduce waste, save water and energy, and promote a circular economy.
