India's Outward Foreign Investment Surges, Leading Global Economic Expansion.
Outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) from India has been growing rapidly since the country started liberalization measures in 1991. A study compared India's OFDI to other countries from 1992 to 2018 and found that India's OFDI is increasing faster than inward FDI. This means Indian companies are investing more in other countries than foreign companies are investing in India. India's share of global OFDI and OFDI from developing countries is also rising, showing that Indian multinational companies are becoming more prominent in the global economy.
