Revolutionizing Building Design: BIM Streamlines Structural Analysis for Future Architects
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a useful tool in architecture and construction. It can be used to design and analyze building structures efficiently. However, currently, structural engineers have to model buildings twice - once in BIM and again in separate programs for analysis. This is a waste of resources. Research is needed to explore using BIM for structural design and how to teach this to students. The study will focus on introducing BIM into design courses for steel and concrete structures in Architectural Engineering programs.
