Kathmandu's Toxic Air Pollution Poised to Skyrocket, Threatening Public Health
The study looked at how much pollution was produced in Kathmandu Valley in 1993 and predicted how much would be produced in 2013 if things continued as usual. They found that the total amount of certain pollutants would increase five times by 2013, with the transport sector being the biggest contributor. Gasoline, fuelwood, and coal were the main sources of pollution, with carbon monoxide being the most common pollutant.
