The article discusses two experiments about overconfidence in making spreadsheets. The first experiment showed that spreadsheet developers are indeed overconfident. The second experiment tried to reduce overconfidence by warning subjects about past errors made by students. This warning did decrease overconfidence and errors, but not enough to make spreadsheet development completely safe.
