The article discusses new ways to design experiments with multiple factors. Researchers have been focusing on using fractional factorial plans since 1965. They have come up with three main types of plans: fractions of asymmetrical factorial arrangements, irregular fraction plans, and sequences of fractional factorial plans. These new designs have not been widely discussed in statistical literature yet.
