Low Impact Development principles have shown success in cold climates and are cost-effective. Green Stormwater Infrastructure benefits communities and is more sustainable than traditional solutions. Implementing GSI on private lands and in public spaces can help manage rain where it falls. Ontario is in the early stages of adopting GSI for stormwater management.
