Genetic testing of sperm donors in China is important for ensuring healthy offspring. A survey of 26 sperm banks showed that all donors undergo karyotype analysis, with some also providing family history and accommodating special genetic test requests. Only a few banks perform whole-exome sequencing. Most banks have genetic counselors to explain test results. The study suggests a need for more extensive genetic testing and trained genetic counselors in sperm banks in China.
