Algae Consortium Captures Greenhouse Gases, Offers Sustainable Carbon Sequestration Solution
Algae in a greenhouse can capture a lot of carbon dioxide. The researchers grew algae on the walls of a greenhouse and found that the algae grew best and captured the most carbon when the temperature was high and there was a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. In these conditions, the algae accumulated 834.59 mg of carbon per gram and had 8693.68 cells per milliliter. This shows that algae can be very effective at capturing carbon in certain environments.
