Qualitative methods revolutionize public policy research for better societal impact.
Qualitative research methods can make mixed methods research in public policy and administration stronger. A study analyzed 186 mixed methods studies and found that quantitative findings were dominant, with little variety in data collection and analysis methods. However, when qualitative methods were used more prominently, they enhanced the overall research by providing different perspectives and insights. By incorporating qualitative methods thoughtfully and clearly articulating the role of each method, mixed methods research can be more credible and impactful.
