Optimal farm plans in Nigeria boost income and food security.
Small-scale farmers in Kogi State, Nigeria were studied to create farm plans that meet their goals. By using a mix of crops like melons, yams, and sorghum, farmers can increase income and meet family food needs. The study found that optimizing crop choices can lead to higher profits and reduced labor costs. Existing plans were not using resources efficiently, so farmers were advised to follow the suggested optimal plan for better results.
