The study looked at how environmental regulations in China impact the sustainability of chemical companies. They found that these regulations can lead to more green technology innovation, which in turn improves sustainability performance. Command-controlled regulations had the biggest positive effect on sustainability. Market-incentive and voluntary regulations didn't work as well. This shows that there are still areas for improvement in how regulations, innovation, and sustainability are handled in the chemical industry in China.
