Energy Efficiency Policies Neglect Citizens' Needs, Demand Rethinking
Energy efficiency is a strategy to use less energy for the same output, aiming to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The article examines how energy efficiency policies have evolved over time, showing that certain values influence how efficiency is defined and measured. It points out that narrow views on energy efficiency can overlook broader environmental and social issues. The study suggests that energy efficiency policies should consider citizens' perspectives and collective solutions to effectively reduce energy consumption.
