The scientists studied soil structure in India using different models to understand how soil aggregates are distributed. They found that the Buchan model best described the data. By using soil properties and terrain information, they were able to create maps showing the distribution of soil aggregates across the country. This is the first time such detailed maps have been made using digital soil mapping techniques.
