Post-gold mining revegetation boosts biodiversity in Indonesia's degraded lands.
The study looked at how plants grow in areas where gold mining used to happen in Indonesia. They found that planting new trees and plants in these areas helps the environment. The older the planted area, the more different types of plants grow there. Areas that are 7 to 8 years old have more plant species than natural forests. This shows that replanting trees after mining can make the land healthier and more diverse.
