Bio-plastics waste treatment methods impact environment and economy differently.
Bio-plastics are being used more to reduce fossil-based pollution, but how to manage the waste is still unclear. This study looked at different ways to treat bio-plastics waste (BPW) to find the best option. They found that treating organic waste costs the most, while treating mixed and plastic waste costs less. However, treating organic waste creates more environmental harm than treating mixed or plastic waste. This means that even though the amount of BPW doesn't affect the treatment process, it does affect the quality of the end product. To make sure BPW can be reused, we need to improve how we treat organic waste, especially using anaerobic digestion.
