Revolutionary daylighting louver maintains high illuminance in all seasons.
A new type of daylighting louver was created for windows in Japan, designed to let in sunlight at specific angles and distribute it evenly in a room. The louver uses a special concept called the Köhler integrator to control the amount of sunlight coming in, especially during autumn to spring. Tests showed that the louver can maintain good lighting levels in an office space throughout the year, even in summer when sunlight is harder to capture.
